Industrial Distribution

There was a time when all you needed was a warehouse, some stationery, some inventory cards, an office and a small group of dedicated workers and you could start a distribution business. Then came ERP packages and some distributors resisted for a long time but eventually gave in. Others did not embrace that change and eventually went out of business.

The distribution business is at crossroads again. ERPs are not enough. They only address some of the needs. Now “web pages” are sales people. B2B shopping carts are the new “inside sales reps” and customers demand that this new work force treats them right. Customers don’t have much time to chat before placing on order. They just want to be able to find stuff they are looking for fast and go about their business.

That means websites better be accurate and shopping engines simple, intuitive and search results accurate. Distributors need simple ways to keep all the product data accurate because they don’t get much help from manufacturers. We create web based dashboards where you change information in one place and then it’s pushed to all other systems (websites, ERP software, Office Productivity applications, search engine feeds and other shopping portals).
